Our goal is to make your experience efficient, collaborative, professional, and stress-free while keeping expectations clear for everyone involved.

These policies explain how sessions, image licensing, usage rights, studio procedures, editing, delivery, and operational workflows function at Josh Stringer Photography.

By booking a session, submitting payment, paying a deposit, attending a shoot, signing electronically, or downloading delivered images, you — and anyone acting on your behalf (agents, managers, publicists, employers, brands, collaborators, etc.) — acknowledge and agree to these Studio Policies, Licensing Terms, FAQs, and Usage Guidelines.

IMPORTANT NOTE REGARDING COMMERCIAL, PRODUCTION & UNIT STILLS WORK

These Studio Policies primarily apply to:
• Actor headshots
• Portrait sessions
• Branding/editorial shoots
• Weddings
• Studio portraiture
• Personal commissions

Commercial productions, unit stills photography, gallery photography, entertainment publicity photography, studio/network productions, commissioned campaigns, and production assignments may operate under separate:
• deal memos
• licensing agreements
• NDAs
• union agreements
• production contracts
• studio/network policies

which supersede portions of these policies where applicable.

📷 IMAGE LICENSING & COPYRIGHT

All photographs created by Josh Stringer Photography are licensed, not sold, and remain the intellectual property of JAS Productions LLC d/b/a Josh Stringer Photography under United States Copyright Law.

Your session includes a limited license based upon the type of session booked and the intended approved usage.

Actor Headshot sessions generally include usage for:
• Casting platforms (Actors Access, Casting Networks, IMDb)
• Talent agency submissions
• Personal acting websites
• Acting-related social media promotion
• Industry networking related to acting careers

Actor headshot licenses do NOT automatically include:
• Business advertising
• Corporate branding
• Paid campaigns
• Product endorsements
• Merchandise
• Promotional graphics
• Commercial advertising
• Press/editorial publication
• Monetized YouTube or creator content
• Convention materials
• Commercial social campaigns

If images are later used outside the original license category, the usage may be reclassified into the appropriate licensing category and additional licensing fees may apply.

This is standard professional photography practice across commercial, editorial, and entertainment photography industries.

If you are unsure whether your intended usage requires additional licensing, please contact the studio before posting or publishing.

🤖 AI, MACHINE LEARNING & IMAGE GENERATION POLICY

Images created by Josh Stringer Photography may not be used in connection with:
• artificial intelligence systems
• machine learning systems
• AI image generators
• synthetic image systems
• automated editing systems
• facial recognition systems
• derivative AI imagery
• likeness replication systems

Clients may not:
• upload images into AI tools
• create AI-generated variations
• generate synthetic likenesses
• use AI “headshot” apps
• use automated beauty filters
• create manipulated composites
• use third-party AI retouching systems
• create derivative synthetic imagery

Examples include but are not limited to:
• Midjourney
• DALL·E
• Stable Diffusion
• Canva AI
• Photoshop AI / Generative Fill
• FaceTune
• Remini
• ChatGPT image tools

Only final edited images delivered by the studio are licensed for approved use.

RAW files, proofs, previews, screenshots, and unedited files are not licensed for:
• posting
• editing
• AI usage
• distribution
• public display
• social media use
• derivative manipulation

If additional edits, alternate crops, composites, business licensing, or advanced usage is desired, please contact the studio directly.

Unauthorized AI-related usage may result in:
• licensing adjustments
• correction fees
• additional licensing fees
• takedown requests
• refusal of future bookings
• legal enforcement where appropriate

🚫 NO THIRD-PARTY EDITING OR DERIVATIVE WORKS

Please do not apply filters, presets, AI edits, beauty apps, heavy crops, composites, manipulations, or third-party retouching to images delivered by Josh Stringer Photography.

This helps maintain:
• image quality
• brand consistency
• professional color grading
• retouching integrity
• licensing consistency

Clients may not create derivative works based upon the images without prior written approval.

Examples include:
• AI-generated variations
• composites
• synthetic likenesses
• altered graphics
• stylized renderings
• manipulated edits
• face swaps
• animated versions
• heavily altered promotional graphics

If additional edits or alternate versions are needed, we’re always happy to help directly through the studio.

📂 RAW FILES, PROOFS & FILE DELIVERY

Josh Stringer Photography does not release RAW files or unedited originals unless specifically agreed in writing.

Clients receive proof galleries for image review and selection purposes only.

Proofs, previews, screenshots, contact sheets, and monitor photos may not be:
• publicly posted
• edited
• distributed
• uploaded into AI systems
• shared for third-party retouching

Only final delivered edited images are licensed for approved usage.

Please download and safely back up delivered files promptly.

Archived file retrieval requests may incur a $55 re-delivery fee.

Sharing files does not transfer licensing rights or usage permissions.

💄 HAIR & MAKEUP

Hair and makeup services are included only when specifically listed within the booked package or invoice.

Clients bringing outside artists should arrive fully prepared unless otherwise approved.

Very thick hair, extensions, specialty styling, major changes, or unusually long prep times may require additional artist fees.

Same-day hair or makeup additions are subject to artist availability and may incur rush fees.

Studio sets are closed working environments and only approved personnel may be present during shoots.

✨ RETOUCHING & EDITING

Retouching and editing are included only when specifically listed within your package or invoice.

Standard Actor Retouching:
• $45 per image

Standard Business/Commercial Retouching:
• $85 per image

Advanced Editing:
• $120 per hour

Examples of advanced editing may include:
• wardrobe fixes
• background adjustments
• tattoo removal
• composite work
• object removal
• major skin corrections
• advanced cleanup work

Bulk retouch pricing may occasionally be available depending on project scope.

📅 BOOKING, DEPOSITS & CANCELLATIONS

A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to reserve a session date.

Remaining balances are generally due 72 hours before the scheduled shoot unless otherwise agreed.

Because studio time is reserved specifically for each client:
• cancellations
• no-shows
• last-minute reschedules

may result in forfeiture of deposits and/or require additional booking payments.

Same-day cancellations or reschedules generally require rebooking at full session rate, including hair and makeup costs where applicable.

All sales are final.

🔁 RESCHEDULING

With at least two weeks notice and valid documentation, deposits may sometimes be transferred one time within 30 days at studio discretion.

Without documentation, a new deposit may be required.

Work conflicts, schedule changes, skin treatment issues or general availability changes do not automatically qualify for complimentary rescheduling.

⚠️ SKIN PREP BEFORE YOUR SHOOT

Please avoid:
• Botox
• Spray tanning
• Chemical peels
• Aggressive facials
• New skincare routines
• Cosmetic treatments

immediately before your session whenever possible.

Skin often needs time to recover, and rushed treatments may negatively affect final image quality. If you are planning any skincare or cosmetic procedures, please consult your skincare professional well in advance of your session whenever possible. Shoots that need to be postponed for these reasons will require forfeit of your deposit/another deposit to reschedule.

⏰ LATE ARRIVALS

Please arrive early to allow time for parking, wardrobe setup, and preparation.

Late arrivals reduce available shooting time.

• Up to 15 minutes late — session continues with no time extension
• 30 minutes or more late — session may be treated as a no-show

If studio availability allows, same-day rescheduling may occasionally be available and may incur a rescheduling fee.

🕒 STUDIO TIME & SESSION EXTENSIONS

The time booked is reserved exclusively for your session.

Session extensions may be available depending on studio availability and are billed at the applicable hourly rate.

🔁 RESHOOTS & REFUNDS

Reshoots or refunds are not offered due to personal preference or subjective dissatisfaction.

Clients review images during the session whenever possible. If adjustments are needed, please communicate them during the shoot.

Reshoots are generally reserved for rare technical situations such as:
• equipment malfunction
• corruption of files
• significant technical failure

⚡ RUSH BOOKINGS & RUSH EDITING

Sessions booked within 14 days may incur last-minute booking fees depending on scheduling availability.

Rush editing and expedited turnaround may also be available for additional fees depending on project scope and schedule availability.

🛡️ LIABILITY & STUDIO CONDUCT

JAS Productions LLC d/b/a Josh Stringer Photography is not responsible for personal injury, illness, property loss, or damage occurring before, during, or after a session.

Clients assume all risks while on studio premises or production locations.

Studio sets are closed working environments and only approved personnel may be present during shoots.

Any intentional damage to studio equipment, rental property, or production materials is the responsibility of the client.

In rare emergencies outside studio control, sessions may be rescheduled or refunded at studio discretion.

📵 BEHIND-THE-SCENES CONTENT

Behind-the-scenes content is always welcome.

We simply ask that clients avoid publicly sharing:
• lighting diagrams
• technical setup photos
• retouching screens
• proprietary workflows
• production layouts
• modifier placements

Josh Stringer Photography utilizes proprietary production, lighting, posing, editing, retouching, and business systems developed through years of professional commercial and entertainment-industry experience.

⚖️ LICENSING ENFORCEMENT & CORRECTION FEES

Unauthorized usage, editing, AI manipulation, redistribution, proof posting, derivative works, or commercial exploitation of images may result in:
• licensing adjustments
• correction fees
• additional licensing invoices
• takedown requests
• revocation of image licenses
• refusal of future bookings
• DMCA enforcement
• legal enforcement where appropriate

If images are used outside the granted license:
• the usage may be converted into the appropriate licensing category
• updated invoices may be issued
• licensing fees may become immediately due

These policies apply to clients and any representatives acting on their behalf.

Our goal is always to create incredible imagery while making the process professional, collaborative, efficient, and enjoyable for everyone involved.
